General Summary of Job Details :
Clearer.io are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead and evolve our quality engineering practices. This role focuses on designing a modern, automation-first testing ecosystem enhanced with intelligent tools and scalable frameworks. You will take ownership of the automation strategy, guide the QA team, and ensure our cloud-based applications deliver consistent performance and reliability. Collaboration across engineering, DevOps, and product teams will be key to embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and execute a comprehensive quality assurance strategy, aligning manual and automated testing efforts to support fast-paced release cycles.
Design, implement, and maintain a scalable automation framework using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript.
Provide technical leadership to the automation team, including mentoring engineers and conducting thorough code reviews to uphold best practices.
Evaluate and integrate advanced testing approaches, including AI-assisted tools for improving test coverage and efficiency.
Expand and maintain automation across user interface, APIs, and backend components within a SaaS environment.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Docker, and container orchestration platforms.
Work closely with development and product teams to ensure applications are designed with testability in mind.
Lead performance testing initiatives using tools such as k6 or JMeter to assess system scalability and identify bottlenecks.
Monitor application performance and investigate issues using observability platforms, conducting root cause analysis where needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 5+ years of relevant experience in quality engineering or automation.
Strong expertise in automation frameworks, with hands-on experience in Playwright as a core requirement.
Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, including workflow automation.
Proven ability in performance testing and system optimization techniques.
Familiarity with modern testing innovations, including AI/ML applications in quality engineering, is highly desirable
Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools such as Datadog or equivalent platforms.
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities, with the capacity to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Exposure to e-commerce platforms, particularly Shopify, is an added advantage.
