General Summary of Job Details :

The role is responsible for delivering a consistently high standard of client service to Global Trade Services (GTS) customers, including premium and standard clients. Given the strategic importance of these clients, the position requires strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex trade-related enquiries end to end.

As part of the Client Servicing team, the role acts as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring seamless transaction processing, prompt issue resolution, and proactive client engagement. The jobholder is expected to take full accountability for transactions, resolve discrepancies, offer timely solutions, and foster long-term client relationships while ensuring exceptional service delivery.

In addition to servicing responsibilities, the role contributes to business growth by identifying opportunities to enhance revenue through cross-selling and value-added services. A broad understanding of GTS products, processes, and regulatory requirements is essentia,along with the ability to provide customized and professional advice aligned to client needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Own and manage trade transactions for assigned premium and standard clients, ensuring complete end-to-end processing.

Ensure transactions proceed without delays due to missing documentation or approvals.
Coordinate internal approvals, monitor deferrals, and support straight-through processing to minimize transaction breaks.

Handle client complaints with professionalism, ensuring effective resolution while balancing service quality and business considerations.
Monitor and manage client queries received via e-helpline, ensuring accurate assignment and full resolution.

Support client onboarding by coordinating and preparing required documentation and forms.
Respond to client calls and emails related to general and transaction-specific trade enquiries.

Conduct proactive client outreach, including confirmations of payment instructions, exchange rates, funding shortfalls, dispatch details, and discrepancy notifications.
Liaise with clients, group offices, middle office teams, sales, and external authorities for trade follow-ups, including export/import payments, overdue bills, reconciliation activities, and regulatory documentation.

Coordinate with sales, product, and operations teams to support daily transaction requirements and optimize service outcomes.
Participate in team discussions and process rollouts to ensure clear understanding of procedures and guidelines.

Continuously build product and process knowledge to strengthen team capability and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
Act as a trusted trade advisor to clients and, where appropriate, support client managers during customer visits.

Conduct periodic client meetings to understand evolving trade needs and service expectations.
Monitor export and domestic dispatches to ensure timely document delivery.

Identify, report, and expedite resolution of trade discrepancies.

Manage ongoing trade relationships for a designated client portfolio.
Promote adoption of digital trade solutions.

Adhere to HSBC internal controls, compliance policies, and operational risk management standards.

Qualifications :

Graduate degree or equivalent qualification as required for the role.

Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders across functions.
