General Summary of Job Details :
As an Automation & Software Test Engineer, you will be part of Operation Center, India (INOPC-PG), aiming to develop a global value chain, where key business activities, resources, and expertise are shared across geographic boundaries to optimize value for Hitachi Energy customers across markets. As part of Transformers BU, we provide high-quality engineering and Technology to Hitachi Energy world. This is an important step from Hitachi Energy’s Global Footprint strategy.
How you’ll make an impact:
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
Analyze product requirements and technical specifications to identify test cases suitable for automation and manual execution.
Develop and implement automation test strategies and plans.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to facilitate continuous testing and faster feedback loops.
Execute automated tests, analyze results, and report defects with clear and concise documentation.
Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, when automation is not feasible or appropriate.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to understand product features and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Monitor and troubleshoot automated test failures, identifying the root cause of issues and working with development to resolve them.
Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts to ensure quality and adherence to best practices. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the test automation framework and processes.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in software testing and automation. Write good quality documentation for data processing for different projects to ensure reproducibility.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience of maximum 4 years as an Automation Tester or QA Automation Engineer.
Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#).
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with popular test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, Appium).
Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
